Lampranthus
During January 2009 we experienced unusually low temperatures and I was surprised that my lampranthus survived temperatures down to -7c, however we had not had rain for weeks before this and therefore the plants were very dry helping them to withstand the low temperatures. I would still recommend winter protection. They have succulent leaves and the most popular varieties have brightly coloured flowers opening in warm, sunny conditions sometimes late into the autumn. The flowers have a real ‘WOW’ factor.
